KISS AND TELL — kids

Having a child brings a whole new chapter to your life, one that really nothing can prepare you fully.  We did books, classes and tried to learn everything we could about parenting but the joy and challenges are never quite captured outside of being in the moments.  And that first little while with each child, but especially your first, is sheer survival.  I try and tell people that when they have a new child that it is completely normal for awhile to be simply in survival mode.  Our first was not typical in many ways.  I recently read a joke...

We were best friends growing up going to kindergarten and lived in the same neighbourhood.  We were one of the couples that everyone thought we would end up together, and we did.  We began dating in middle school after a game of truth or dare when someone dared us to kiss.  We have been a couple ever since.  Our first kid was a surprise as we were both still high school students.  Everyone else had issues with it but we didn't mind a bit, sure it made things a little more complex but it was wonderful.  And we had more...
